I call upon all men to stand up and unite against the abuse of women and children. It is a shame that there some men who still believe that beating their wife or a girlfriend is a sign of love. A person who truly loves someone will never hurt her. I urge women to also stand up and fight for their rights and freedom. They should not allow men to abuse them or to take advantage of them because of their background or financial status.
This week l was disturbed by the story on page 5 of this edition. A man was arrested for assaulting pregnant ex-wife, it is alleged that the man claims that he becomes jealous when he sees his ex-wife with another man. We don’t know the reasons behind their separation but personally l feel that this suspect needs counselling for him to stop abusing women.
