BOLD AND BEAUTIFUL

BOLD AND BEAUTIFUL

Leading ladies

Three phenomenal local women give their take on womanhood.

Megan van der Merwe

Megan is an official ambassador of the Bedfordview tame TIMES having been crowned Senior Face of tame TIMES winner in our first ever Face of tame TIMES competition in November 2015. She is also a professional dancer, dance instructor and model.

“Success as a woman is extremely underestimated, underrated and unexpected. I put 110 percent in all that I do, not only to enjoy the results of my success but also to prove the general impression society holds of women wrong!”

As a woman, it is always important to … “Be ready for action and presentable at all times.”
My most precious possessions are … “My Mind and my reputation. A smart mind leads to smart choices, creating a favourable reputation, which will ultimately lead to success.”
My role model is… “My mother. She is a hardworking, ambitious, successful business woman If I am only half the mother that my mother is to me one day – I will still be the perfect mom!

Tania Sutherland

Tania is the president of Bedfordview’s successful woman’s only club, the ABC Networking Club, which meets at the Mercure Hotel in Bradford Road, on the second Thursday morning of each month. She is also a Bedfordview Rotarian, author, and the owner of success and image-coaching company Successful Visionz.

“Being a woman is an adventure. From being a teenager, to developing into womanhood, to building your own career and entering into motherhood, it is a journey of growth and discovery.”

What makes a woman beautiful? “A woman is beautiful when she cares about herself and nurtures her mind, body and soul, developing her personal growth.”
I am inspired by… “Coco Chanel, because of her passion and drive to be financially independent in an era that ‘businesses’ were dominated by men.”
5 things I keep in my handbag are… “A cork screw for that bottle of wine, business cards, an impressive pen, lipstick and a nail kit.”

Marina Constas

Marina is one of the co-founders and directors of the Community Hours web site which helps learners clock their community hours for school. She is an attorney with BBM Attorneys in Bedfordview and former chairperson of the Bedfordview Community Policing forum (BCPF).

“Beauty shows through the eyes when you see warmth and compassion.”

The most precious thing I own is … “Freedom of Choice. I get to decide how I will react in any situation, for example, or which group of ladies to be friends with.”
I am inspired by … “Christian Amanpoure, CNN reporter, for her fearlessness, strengths and professionalism; and Karen Landi, my business partner for the
Community Hours website, for her generous nature and boundless enthusiasm.”
I love meeting my girl friends at … “Exclusive Books at Bedford Centre.”
