East Rand United preparing for 2018 Rugby Season

Boksburg team gearing up for a good local rugby season

East Rand United Rugby Club based in Boksburg started their training for the 2018 Rugby Season.

East Rand United are hard at training ahead of what is building up to be an exciting season.
The club have players from all over the East Rand.
It includes players from Daveyton; Tsakane; Katlehong; Thokoza, Boksburg and Reiger Park.

At the training sessions players put their bodies on the line to be part of the 1st Team.

United have also done a few jobs in the transfer market with coach Stephan Nel keeping his cards to his chest as far as revealing the new acquisitions. The United trainer, however, did give one name away in the form of Lourens Boddington a no 10 from Harlequins.

Boddington comes in as a replacement for Andy Huysamen, who chose to move on after last season. Flyer Cameron Lentoor completes the off-season exodus from a United point of view.

More than 60 players attends the practice sessions which are held every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings between 18:00 and 20:00.

Management also arranges a few warm-up games before the league kicks off. 

These friendly games includes a Rugby Festivals in Springs such as matches against Union Rugby Club.

The coaching Staff and Management hope that the club will continue to play running rugby which the supporters enjoy.

The Peregrine League is scheduled to kick-off on Saturday, 7 April 2018.
