KAC RECEIVE TRAINING EQUIPMENT DONATION

Katlehong Athletics Club (KAC) received training equipment donations from Central Gauteng Athletics (CGA) and Gauteng Department of Sports to assist with training and developing the structure of the club.

The department and the running affiliate body donated a short put (2kg), 1.24 cones, relay batons, discus binex rubber, salon poles, jumping tapes and top class training outfit to KAC.

“This donation will go a long way towards sustaining our development program and unearthing the talent in Katlehong and surrounding areas. We will be able to train more athletes especially for the school program as we now have the resources to grow the talent further,” said Lehlohonolo Motloung, Chairperson of Katlehong Athletics Club

He added, “Resources are always a challenge as they hamper on the progress of athletes and some they are discouraged as a results of poor and lack of resources”, said  Motloung.

The remarkable aspect of sports is not its ability to improve fitness and burn calories, but its power to draw people of any background and KAC invites all children in our community to join and be active in sport.

The club’s development program is training every Monday to Thursday at 16:00 -17:00 at ERWAT next to Chris Hani Mall.
