Sizakele Nkosi-Malobane, MEC of Gauteng Community Safety launched the new high performance fleet of vehicles last week Wednesday during the Easter Road Safety Campaign held at N3 Heidelberg, Magagula Heights.
The new vehicles are for Gauteng Traffic Police officers to enhance service delivery. “The new fleet of vehicles will assist in ensuring that our people are safe on the roads. We are going to launch 250 new vehicles in three months. We have launched 50 vehicles today.
We have extra 200 officers who needed the vehicles to do the job,” said Nkosi-Malobane.
She added, “We have removed the old fleet to replace them with the new one in order to enhance service delivery.”
Nkosi-Malobane said these vehicles were bought by tax payer’s money and need to be taken care of.
“These vehicles belong to the people of Gauteng. Look after them and if they are not used for their main purpose of service delivery please report to the authorities and write down the registration number of the vehicle and the time and place where the vehicle was found,” explained Nkosi- Malobane
