Okay so people close to me know that according to me, the collective word for a group of kids is ‘’migraine’’. So when I arrived at my cousin’s son’s first birthday party on Saturday, it’s needless to say that I was less than ready for a migraine of kids.
When I saw my family though, every possible displeasing feeling melted away like a snowflake in Upington. With my family around, I feel like I can tackle anything – and so I did. Before long my cousin Elmarie and I were on the go-cart track (after having cake for breakfast of course) enjoying ourselves more than the children did.
Family makes you stronger. So does your friends, the family you choose. After this weekend, I’m exhausted, but I feel stronger after spending time with my relatives and my chosen family. Bonus: getting to work early on a Monday and having more chosen family here.
Have a great week!
