Famous Pub and Grill based at Sunrise Katlehong; Phumuza Maphiko Pub and Grill donated groceries to Tshidi Semema ( 27), assisting her for the burial of her son.
According to Tshidi Semema, the mother of the deceased boy, her one year four months old son was burnt on 20 March and died at the hospital on 23 March 2017.
“I had left my son with my boyfriend when l went to school to check on the learnerships. I was called by my boyfriend who told me that my child was burnt with boiling water by my other older child. I rushed home and found that my son was burnt from the lower body –abdomen to the toes. I rushed the child to the hospital where he was admitted and passed away on 23 March,” said Simema. She added,
“I had no money to arrange the funeral. I would like to thank Phumuza Maphiko for coming to my rescue by donating groceries for the funeral. I am speechless for their gesture as l did not know how l was going to do the funeral without their assistance.
I managed to bury my child on 1 April 2017.”
Speaking to tame TIMES, Fortune Nematswerani, manager for Phumuza Maphiko Pub and Grill said, “We heard what happened to Tshidi Semema and we decided to assist her with groceries for the burial. We are operating a business at the township and we also try to help the community where we can.”
