RAPIST SENTENCED TO LIFE IMPRISONMENT

 

 

 

Patrick Daluxolo Dyasi (41) was found guilty of raping a 21 year-old woman and was sentenced to life imprisonment at Palm Ridge court on 30 September.

 

According to Captain Mega Ndobe, spokesperson of Katlehong SAPS, Dyasi was found guilty of raping a 21 year-old woman at an open space in Greenfield.

 

“It is alleged that on 10 April 2009 Dyasi threatened the victim with a knife and forced her to the nearest veld where he repeatedly raped her. After raping the victim the suspect stabbed her on the legs with a knife,” said Ndobe.

 

 

He said the matter was reported to Ekurhuleni West Family Violence Child Protection and Social Offensive Unit. A rape docket was registered for investigation.

 

The suspect was arrested after the victim recognised him in the church and immediately alerted the police.

 

“The suspect was arrested in the church. Sergeant Manakedi Vilakazi an investigating officer worked day and night to gather information and evidence which linked the suspect to the rape incident,” he said.

 

The suspect remained in custody from the day of his arrested until he was convicted on the 30 September 2016.

 

Dyasi was found guilty and sentenced to life imprisonment at Palm Ridge court. He was also declared unfit to possess a firearm during his life.
