Chris Hani Crossing will be giving out a R20 000 cash prize Christmas gift to one out of five charities from Kathorus selected as part of their Shop Vote Win initiative.

Tisa Tshireletso Organisation, Hope for Africa Foundation, Vuka, Dzulani Orphanage and Khanya Family Centre are the five charities competing for the big prize. These charity organisations had displayed their portfolios at the kiosk inside the mall. Only one charity organisation is going to win a R20 000 cash prize and the remaining four with share a R4000 shopping voucher as part of acknowledging their participation in the competition.

The shoppers and the community members are invited to come to the mall and vote for their favourite charity at the kiosk.  The charity organisation that receives the most votes will win the prize. The shoppers also stand a chance to win airtime vouchers, Bluetooth speakers and cash prizes if they buy goods worth R250 or more at any shop at the mall. They are required to take their purchase slip to the kiosk and vote for their favourite charity organisation to stand a chance to also win.

The shoppers and community members can also vote by connecting to the mall WIFI while inside the mall and it will lead them to a page where they will cast their votes.

Lebohang Matlala, marketing manager for Chris Hani Crossing said,“Theinitiative was launched on 24 November 2016 and it is part of our community engagements programme. There are some people who cannot afford to shop at the mall due to the fact that they are less fortunate. We are assisting those who are underprivileged and we selected the charities that are always seeking assistance from the mall and that are doing something meaningful for our communities.”

In conclusion, she said the draw and the official prize giving ceremony will be held at the mall on 22 December 2016.
