At only 14 years old, Kyle Letley, a grade 9 learner from Edenvale High School, has been selected to participate in the upcoming Fina Junior World Open Water Swimming Championships in Netherlands. He will compete in the 5km race in the event.
Letley had set a goal for himself for the 2018 Junior World Championships and achieving it two years earlier than envisaged was a great honour and achievement for him.
As an integral member of Edenvale High School’s Open Water and Swimming Teams, the talented swimmer was appointed EHS ‘Junior Victor Ludorum’ in 2015 and 2016 and has been awarded colours. These achievements run in tandem with him swimming at SA national level, for the third year in a row.
The school has commended Letley for his selection into the Junior World Championships and has acknowledged his passion, humility and exemplary sportsmanship.
