Two critical after R59 taxi crash

ALBERTON – An accident involving a taxi has left 15 injured following a crash on Sunday afternoon, 21 January near the R59 Michelle Avenue off-ramp.

According to a statement by ER24, paramedics, along with other services, arrived on the scene to find the taxi lying on its roof on the off-ramp. Several occupants were found scattered along the road.

On assessing the passengers on the side of the road, the paramedics found that two of the patients, including a child were critically injured; while 13 sustained minor to moderate injuries.

ER24 reported that paramedics treated the patients and provided the critically injured with advanced life support interventions.

Once treated, the patients were transported to nearby hospitals for further treatment.
