TWO SUSPECTS ARRESTED FOR MURDER OF ZONKIZIZWE CPF PATROLLER

Two males aged 24 and 36 years-old were arrested for murder and attempted murder following the shooting of two Zonkizizwe CPF patrollers at Mtholo Primary School in Zonkizizwe on Thursday, 10 November at around 19:30 pm.

According to Sergeant Rufus Tema, spokesperson of Zonkizizwe police station the investigations led the police to a certain house in Zone 5 at Zonkizizwe where a 24 year-old male suspect was arrested. The second suspect aged 36 years-old was cornered and arrested at the Zonkizizwe taxi rank. The suspect was also found in possession of an unlicensed firearm which was also seized and taken for ballistic examination.

He said a 22 year-old CPF patroller is recovering at the hospital and a they are busy with the funeral arrangements of 36 year-old woman patroller who was shot dead during the incident.
Tema said the two suspects were charged with murder and attempted murder. He said they are expected to appear at Palmridge court soon.
