The men who murdered a woman for not being in possession of her cellphone have been sentenced to two life terms by the Pietermaritzburg High Court.
Lindokuhle Mzimela (25) and his friend Prince Zulu (19) were sentenced to two life terms after they killed Philile Nzuza from Ngwelezane township, in the north of KwaZulu Natal, last year. When Mzimela confessed to the case of killing Nzuza he said that they in fact wanted to rob her of her cellphone.. Mzimela said that when they left a local tavern, they met Nzuza and her boyfriend along the way and robbed them of their cellphones. They claimed that Nzuza was left behind when her man ran away after they had robbed him of his cellphone.Mzimela claimed that when they realised that Nzuza had no cellphone with her, they then forced her to come with them to a local vacant house, where they forced her to undress and raped her
He said that when Nzuza refused to undress they stabbed her twice before raping her. According to Mzimela they had to wait for hours for Nzuza to die after they had killed her as she still had a pulse
