A woman was left trapped in her car when she crashed into a tree in Albermarle.
The women in her 30s collided into a tree on Grey Avenue in Albermarle, Johannesburg South on Tuesday afternoon, ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring said.
“A woman, believed to be in her 30s, was lying trapped inside the car.”
Paramedics assessed the woman and found that she was in a serious condition, Meiring said.
“The provincial fire services had to use the jaws-of-life equipment to free the woman from the car. Once released, medics treated the woman and later transported her to a nearby hospital for further care.”
Meiring said the exact details surrounding the incident are unknown but the scene was handed over to police for further investigations.
Another woman got into a collision at the weekend in Kempton Park but she was killed when she collided with a delivery vehicle.
The accident happened on the R21 south highway on Sunday, said ER24.
ER24 and other paramedic services arrived on the scene at 14h30 and found both vehicles in the middle of the road, said Meiring.
“On closer inspection, medics found a woman lying in the car’s passenger seat. Medics assessed the woman and found that she had already succumbed to her injuries.”
Unfortunately, nothing more could be done for her and she was declared dead.
Two other patients were assessed and were found to have no injuries.
“Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.”
